Learning through fun

Before I got up this morning I was snuggled up in bed thinking about my favourite poem of all time.  William Wordsworth's 'I wandered lonely as a cloud'.  Wouldn't it make a lovely little school play. The children could learn and recite the poem and there are so many different parts that the kids could take. Or perhaps a really good reader with a clear voice could stand off to the side of the stage and read it aloud while other littlies could act out the parts. Such a pity that I don't go into schools any more as I could have such fun helping to make the costumes and stage the scenery. If you have littluns around it would be a great way to get them to learn a poem and have fun at the same time. Upcycle all those cardboard boxes and turn your kids into daffodils, clouds, trees etc... :-) Do a bit of research and find out where William Wordsworth was born and/or grew up. Research the area and look it up on a map. Or choose your own favourite poem and research the poet in the same way.
